COMMON QUESTIONS

Useful things
to know.

Every enquiry is different. These answers explain the starting point, and our team can discuss your circumstances directly.

Who can make an enquiry?

You can enquire for yourself or for someone you support. We will respect the person’s consent, wishes and right to be involved in decisions about their care.

Where do you provide care?

We welcome enquiries from Newcastle upon Tyne, Gateshead, North Tyneside, South Tyneside and nearby parts of Northumberland. Contact us to confirm availability for a postcode.

How quickly can care begin?

This depends on needs, assessment, availability and whether a safe care plan can be agreed. We will explain the likely next steps during the initial conversation.

Do you provide overnight and live-in care?

Yes. Overnight and live-in arrangements are considered following an assessment of the person’s needs, home environment and preferred routines, and are subject to suitable staff availability.

Can you support someone returning from hospital?

Yes. We can discuss short- or longer-term support to help someone settle safely back into their own home. Care begins after needs have been assessed and a safe plan has been agreed.

Can carers help with medication?

Yes. The type of medication support provided depends on the person’s assessment and care plan. Support is delivered by staff with the appropriate training and competency, following safe medication procedures.

Has the service been inspected by CQC?

Golden Cords Limited, trading as Golden Care Services, is CQC registered to provide domiciliary care in people’s own homes but has not yet been inspected, so it does not currently have a CQC rating.

How are charges agreed?

Costs are discussed transparently after we understand the type and frequency of support required. You will have an opportunity to review the proposed arrangements before agreeing.
